Dinie would like to wish Singapore a happy National Day!
He would also like to apologise his last-minute back-out from the sentosa outing. He had to go Malaysia to visit his great-grandmother. Yes, she is still alive. She is too old to track down her old she is and when's her birthday.
But here's her sad story. She has amnesia. She can't remember anything or properly respond to people talking to her. She used to be taken care of by one of Dinie's mom's aunt in Melacca. But they could not take care of her anymore so most of the aunts and uncles came to a consensus to pay a hospital to take care of her.
So, when Dinie visited her with his family and grandmother, he was shocked at her condition. She was strapped to a wheelchair. She kept wriggling free but she can't. Furthermore, she kept shouting random stuff like calling out for her husband and other things which we could not comprehend. Even when we tried to talk to her, she responded by keeping quiet and then, shout out of the blue to noone. It was really sad, especially to Dinie's grandmother as she was looking at her mother at such a bad state. We went back to Singapore afterwards.
So, now for a more better event that happened around Dinie is that his younger sister had been accepted to the Singapore Sports School. She entered through Netball which her primary school achieved second in the National tournament. She lost to the same school again that her team lost to last year.
So Dinie is very proud of her. She is very excited about it. Dinie's parents and his sister are at the Sports School to sign the papers and confirm her stay in the school as Dinie is updating his blog. Zahirah, Dinie's sister, is a very passionate netball player and Dinie hopes she can accomplish many things during her 4-6 years there.
This makes Dinie realise that he will miss Zahirah. He will miss the times when Zahirah comes to him in the middle of the night to ask him questions on how to do math, science or English questions that she has. He will miss her stories that she almost always have to tell during dinner time. He hopes it will turn out to ok for Dinie and his family.
